Vision Problems, Nausea, Weight Loss, Palpitations

by JRoger6, Aug 13, 2006 12:00AM
I am a 17 year old male. For the past 6 months I have been having recurrent nausea and vomiting 3 to 4 times a week. I lost 80 pounds within these six months as well. I had an endoscopy done and the doctor had said that there was damage done to my esophogus from smoking. When I have the nausea its usually just once a day in the morning. I feel a sever pain in the center of my chest which feels a lot like heartburn. My heart feels like its beating hard as well, i can feel my pulse through my whole chest. Also when i stand up I get disoriented and tunnel vision throughout the entire day. I usually have to grab onto something to keep my balance. I have gone to a pediatrician and a gastrointestinal doctor and have told them my symptoms and nothing has come up. i have also had blood work done and an ultrasound which showed that my liver was a little enlarged and that my right kidney was also.

I am wondering whats the next step? Everything pretty much come to a stop with my diagnosis.

Ms. JRoger,

I recommend you request a referral to a Neurologist, Children's Hospital, or at least ask for a head CT.

Especially if all Gastrointestinal issues are ruled out!

Could be a cardio problem too, like POTS. Search on this site for Lynn63. She's posted about her daughter, about your age, with similar symptoms. They finally got a diagnosis and it was POTS. Mayber her posts will help you. Has ALL your blood work come back normal???
