Concern about ovarian pain

by limpsy, Oct 16, 2006 12:00AM
I went to the hospital 2 weeks ago with pain in my ovaries that went around my back and up to my shoulders and neck.  I had also not gotten my period for 3 months previous.  During those months things haven't gotten better, I have diahrrea, more pain, I'm fatigued all the time, my diabetes is totally in control and I know that can't be bad.  Just today tho, my period came back, very lightly (not  normal for me) but the pain is unbearable right now and I am extremely swollen in my middle and my left side of my back is in searing pain.  what should I do.

I think you should call your physician and be seen right away.

The ovarian pain and irregular periods could be associated with ovarian cysts or hormonal problems (or PCOS). I would suggest you saw a gynecologist. PCOS could cause a lot of pain especially when periods are approaching.

Hi,
My neice has been in the hospital with severe pain since last Tuesday.  Tomorrow will be a week.  They said she has abscess in both ovaries and her tube and may need a hysterectomy Wednesday.  What are the chances she will not need surgery.  She is now on an antibioctic.  She is only 22 years old and wants a child sometime.

This sounds ALOT like POLYCYSTIC ovarian disease.Plus you have diabetes, which pcos can cause .... Have you ever seen a gyno about all this? Did they run any tests on you at the hospital ? You need to get a sonogram and see what is going on. Good luck!
