Blister on top of bum crack

For over 6 months now I have had a 1cm large blister inside the top of my bum crack. It becomes rather itchy and extremely painful to sit on. It bursts daily and usually spills a clear liquid but sometimes it can be quite bloody. After sitting on it and popping it will scab up but appears full and sowllen again the next day. I don't have any other blisters in my genital region, is this Herpes?

Think it could be a pilonidal cyst? I have one right on the base of my tailbone. I went to see my GP and they suggested going in for general surgery to have it excised or cut open... however they do that. They gave me some antibiotics that relieved the issue.
great info at pilonidal.org on the condition.
I have found that iodine works pretty well at calming it down. Try applying the povidone iodine jelly because the tincture is messy to deal with. Wear dark undies as iodine stains are pretty permanent.

Hi i just read your symptoms, I think it may be called a Pilonidal Cyst. My nephew had similar symptoms and he had to have surgery in the end.
It is usually caused by ingrowing hairs. mostly males get this condition as they are hairy in that region! Alot of long distance lorry drivers or people that sit down alot in their jobs can get this condition (because of sweat etc).

I would recommend you see your doctor, especially if you develop a fever or aching muscles. The fluid that is leaking out of your blister could infact be pus and will not actually disappear without a course of antibiotics.

Have a look on the web for more info to see if your symptoms match. Of course i could be barking up the wrong tree! But you never know!
