I need help!!!!!

by MP18, Jul 08, 2007 12:00AM
For the past 4 weeks I've been feeling dizzy like I'm in a dream or something.....it's very hard to explain!! Also I've been having some pressure on my head (not exactly a headache....) and I feel exhausted! I went to my doctor and he said that it's due to stress and that it's nothing concerning....but because I'm a little hypocondriac I also went to the ER yesterday I saw a neurologist, I asked him if I should have an MRI and he said that the symptoms dont show something serious, he told me that I should have an MRI only if I start having seizures, if I get very neasuated or if I start losing movement or sensation in an arm or leg and that I should propably go and see a psychologist!
Can anyone tell me what I should do???? I'm scared that it might be something serious!!! Should I see a psychologist or should I go to another doctor ???

What is your blood pressure like? Dehydration would cause the feelings youre describing. Are you drinking/eating properly? If your blood pressure is low, eating alot of salt and drinking plenty of water should raise it back up.

Hey man, I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. I'm very familiar with what you're experiencing. The dizzyness/ feeling of unreality i believe is known as depersonalization and it can be caused by, as dreemilyn said, low blood pressure or dehydration. But my psychiatrist said it can also be caused by hyperventilation or anxiety. I've experienced the same feeling many times and i know how scary it is, trust me. It's bizarre - it feels like you're losing control. But if it's caused by anxiety, which it sounds like it is, it's not dangerous and it's nothing to worry about - it's just the body's response to mental stress. I think you should see a psychiatrist, man (if you haven't already...i just realized this post is from like a year ago lol). Just don't be afraid of the feeling, it can't hurt you and you're not going to lose your mind or anything lol. It's completely normal, even though it feels so strange. You're OK. I hope this helps, man.
