No,yesterday at work we were watching the Lakers play and saw Magic Johnson in an interview and people at work were saying"He aint got Aids".Thats why I asked.

Of course he still has it.  He can just afford better treatment, nutrition etc.

Or, he could be a long term non-progressor.

I think there are regulars on this site who have been infected just as long as Magic.My doctor said with the meds out right now the life expectancy is ABOUT  30 years.Please note the about.
The person must exercise, watch diet and take meds every every single time required so that the virus doesn't become resistant.

Life expectancy is not an issue anymore.  People with HIV will live until they die of something else - if they are treated properly.  It's the quality of life that is the issue now and the high cost of medical care.

Johnson;
"At that time [I was diagnosed HIV positive], we had only one [drug]: AZT," he said. "Now we have 22. The reason I am doing well is because of the drugs.
I am following my doctor's program, and I am making sure I get exercise and a proper diet," he continued. "It's been mind over matter, too. I always felt I was going to beat HIV. I had to put that in my mind to live and breathe that every day."
Johnson still leads an active life, exercising every morning at 5:30, working until 8 or 9 every evening, and raising his three children with Cookie. He sees no end to his active, and activist, lifestyles"

No I don't think he was positive at all.

by boiwonder, Jun 04, 2008 01:05PM
He still has it the medicine he takes allows his body to keep the hiv antibodies undetectable but he still has the virus itr is just dormant in his body.

by Teak, Jun 04, 2008 06:23PM
I don't care what medication he took there is no cure for HIV. If he was infact positive he would still be positive today.
