My skin is breaking out with my new pill

by mamacita87, May 22, 2007 12:00AM
My doctor gave me Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo last month. This is my 3rd type of hormonal birth control that I'm trying out... I was previously on Alesse and the Nuva Ring, and both of them gave me problems with vaginal dryness (I could hardly even have sex).

So right after I start taking Tri Cyclen Lo, my face starts breaking out with the kind of pimples I haven't had in years. I was on Accutane a few years ago and I've been using Differin gel for a long time now, so my face was pretty clear aside from a couple of pimples I would get monthly, right before my period. My doctor told me that Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo would clear up my face even more, but my skin has been reacting horribly for the entire first month!

I look disgusting and I don't even feel like going out in public anymore. My doctor had told me to take this pill for 3 months but I don't think I can take much more of this. I can't get an appointment with her for another month, and my skin keeps getting worse.  Should I just stop taking it?
