symptoms are neurological, but point to cancer

by roguerider, Jul 25, 2007 03:18PM
hi,

i was hoping for input on some symptoms and possibilities while we await final test results.

my wife age 47y/o has had what was thought to be TIA's about 4 yrs ago ( the symptoms resolved quickly) then again another event occurred 3 weeks ago, but has been left with headache, double vision, intermittent numbness of her chin, fatigue, some searching for words on occasion, and has also substituted words in a conversation that sound similar but mean entirely different  things.  her MRI, Ct were normal, EEG had some "ODD" activity that two different Dr.s were hard pressed to describe. they said it seemed like a pre, pre seizure pattern.

She has some weakness( determined by neurological exam) on left side over eyebrow, and mouth area. Nothing i noticed but discovered by the Dr.

She just had a spinal tap done and we are awaiting the complete results. the first results returned ( 24-48 hrs) showed no cells, but the Dr. made comment that the viscosity of the CSF was very very thick, it took an exceptional amount of time to get the sample.

my question, I know it is possible to give a diagnosis, but I was wondering what the possibilities might be. Our current Dr, is reluctant to even discuss possibilities until all results are returned.

any thoughts would be appreciated.
