Second Opinion needed given Symptoms

by Ashok, Apr 19, 2002 12:00AM
My father was diagnosed with polycystic liver disease and polycystic kidney in India. However, we are in need of a second opinion.  He was given a Contrast CT scan of his abdomen in which round cystic lesions of about 1.4 by 1.2cm were found in the left suprarenal region anteromedial to the upper pole of left kidney. Size was normal and excretion was normal. In his liver, it was found that his liver is normal in size with multiple cystic lesions throughout the liver parachyma involving right, left, and caudate lobes.  They are round/oval variable size largest is 4.0*3.9 centimeters in teh right lobe. Multiple calcific nodular lesions seen in the right lobe of liver. An ultrasound of whole abdomen revealed moderately enlarged liver with well defined anechoit lesions in both lobes of liver largest being 43*37mm.  Right lobe of liver shows small calcific focus. kidney normal size and position, smooth, and no evidenceof calculus or hydronephorosis. Also 16*14mm, anechoic lesion seen in lower pole-(Cortical Cyst? or Hydrocalyx?) Ureters, pancreas, spleen normal. Urinary bladder partially full and shows normal anechoic pattern. No calculus or dievrticluar is seen in urinary bladder. A small calcific focus seen in prostate. very minimal free fluid is seen in lower abdomen.  Fluid filler bowel loops are seen in lower abdomen.

X-ray: Lung fields clear, cardiac shadow, bony cage, domes of diaphragm normal. No free gas under right dome of diaphragm. No abnormal soft tissue, calcification seen. would you also concur with the doctors in their diagnosis? what do you recommend be done?
