odor and other problems - please help

nnw
For a little bit over the past month, I have been having many symptoms along with a odor that does not seem to go away no matter what I do.  Over a month ago, I went to the doctor's office complaining that I have too much gas coming out of me throughout the day and that I feel some pressure/wetness in my rectal area at various parts of the day.  I was told to take maalox, but this did not help.  Then I was told to take prevacid 15mg, but stopped because my left arm was feeling strained along with the left part of my chest.  Also, I was feeling itchy throughout my body, mostly around my legs.  There was also a loss of appetite. Before beginning the prevacid, I noticed that I would have to go to the bathroom twice a day and would not feel completely empty sometimes.  I went back to the doctor and was told to take metamucil, which still made me go twice a day to the bathroom, but after going once, I would notice some pain in my abdominal/stomach area and would have to go again.  When this did not work, I was told to try Zantac 150 mg, which helped to decrease the stomach pain, but did not help with the pressure problem.  I have visited an GI and have been told to take Levsid for 4 weeks.  He said I may have IBS, but I don't think he's right. Right now, I still have an odor issue (which is really interfering with my life and I would do anything to get rid of it), still have to go 2 times to the bathroom (once, then 40 min later), still feeling pressure along rectal area, loss of appetite, white marks on hand nails.  What could possibly be wrong with me?  What should I do?

I've noticed that jello like stuff on my stools too.  I have the feeling of incomplete stool extraction.  I don't know, I am confused, either I have chronic constipation, or chronic diarrhea since after 1 incomplete bowel movement the next one happens 30 minutes later, I can go to the bathroom maybe 4 to 5 times a day.  Someone suggested Acidophilus, It has an effect, but the odor is still present.  I am however looking at my stools and I am noticing an inconsistency in color shape, smell, length.  One time I was really freaked out, I had a pitch black stool after taking a water enema and it's smell and presence really seemed like a burned smokey stool. The thing that really irritates me most is the sniffing by others.  I really am getting annoyed with it.

I got the same problem..and still haven't gotten the solution.  I smell like fart all the time.  I am never satisfied after using the toilet.  Well one time I tried to investigate the area and I found that there is jello like poop inside that is not coming out (the reason why I am not satisfied and I suspect this is why I smell bad) Sometimes I feel pressure in the rectal area but don't feel like I really have to go. I would appreciate it if you found anything out and pass the knowledge to me. And also the shape of my poop is round and small, but it is really soft.  I think it has to squeeze though the jello like poop and so it breaks up into small round pieces. Does this happen to  you too? Also when I try to pass gas it just dissappears sometimes, sometimes when I do it feels like it is trying to squeeze though to get out.  Does anyone know what should I do? What should I do to get out the jello like poop? Please anyone help me.

I would also have the doc check you for parasites like giardia.  Those can play havoac on your system.

Your symptoms suggest you have inappropriate fermentation in the small intestine , the condition arises when normal gut flora is altered it can be pathogenic bacteria [as the articles ], or an overgrowth of Candida Albicans [yeast] with luck it will be bacteria . the least difficult to cure. Search small intestine bacterial overgrowth. For more info

Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth
This means that there are too many bacteria in the upper part of the small intestine. This leads to symptoms of bloating, pain, and diarrhea that occur immediately after eating because the bacteria in the intestine begin to consume the food in the small intestine before it can be absorbed. These bacteria give off hydrogen and other gases which cause bloating and diarrhea. Small bowel bacterial overgrowth is a result of abnormal motility in the small intestine; when the housekeeper waves do not keep the bacteria swept out because the contractions are too weak or disorganized, the bacteria grow out of control. Bacterial overgrowth is most easily detected by the hydrogen breath test: The patient drinks a sugar solution and breathes into a bag every 15 minutes for two hours. If the bacteria are present in large amounts in the small intestine, they give off hydrogen, some of which is absorbed into the blood, carried to the lungs, and breathed out where it can be detected.
