Was given post op percodan

I had an outpatient procedure done for needed surgery and without me asking the Dr gave me an Rx for #60 Percodan. Says take 1 pill every 6 hrs. Fact is they knock me out as if they were Seconal or something. Sure takes the pain away, but thinking about flushing 40 of them. I sure don't need to take 1 every 6 hrs..more like 1 or 2 a day for a few days. Any comments?  God Bless, Steve

Thanks...I don't see the allure of this feeling..real out of it sorta. I just got rid of most of them already..no need, WAY too strong. Thanks guys.  Steve

I'm NOT enjoying this kind of drug..I'd rather take the pain. I flushed 57 percodans. It was a benign cyst deep within my pectoral, but this pill incapacitates me.   Steve

If the pain is still bad.. call and ask for prescription Ibuprophen... When I cut my knuckle off a few years ago  they gave it to me no problem...

It would of been great to tell the doctor that.......so he could of wrote you a script for 15 tabs

Only take what you need.   See, I see lots of allure with narcotics but not with benzos.  Also, even within the narcotic range I took percocets right after my surgery last week and didnt like them but I like norco.   I guess it just depends on each persons brain chemisty and makeup.

Thanks for commenting...I've been drifting off. But I think the effects are over. The Dr had a ready made Rx waiting for me at receptionist desk where I paid. BTW I see no allure about benzos either, I just happen to need a set schedule without changing or upping it, to maintain stability. It works with the other meds. I don't feel buzzed from any of my meds at all..never have. This restricted drug made me drift off into never land.
