Legs and Caritod Artery Surgery???

by Toni, Aug 10, 1999 12:00AM
I have CAD and also blockages in left and right caritod. Bypassx3 and 5 angioplasties. In Jan. 99 I had my left caritod artery operated on, at the time I was having alot of trouble with both legs hurting. A weird thing after the surgery my legs felt fine. The pain was gone. Now I am having trouble with angina and a few other things that is making my doctor think I might have another blockage somewhere. And since the angina started my right leg is hurting. Is there any corralation to the two things? Have you ever heard of this?  Thank you, Hurting in Missouri!!

Dear Toni,

I'm not sure what to make of this.  I would be certain to make sure that you do not have blockages in your leg arteries given all the other blocakges you have.  This could be assessed by a vascular surgeon or your cardiologist.

I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
