Post Angioplasty Tests

by Cody, Sep 22, 1999 12:00AM
Dear Physicians at CCHC,

Twenty-one(21) months ago I had an angioplasty performed on my LAD as a result of a 95%  blockage.  Six(6) months after the angioplasty a thallium stress test was performed and eighteen(18) months after the angioplasty a second thallium stress test was performed.  Both thallium stress tests showed normal and similar results.  Are yearly thallium stress tests after undergoing angioplasty sufficient enough to show how the angioplasty has progressed and to indicate if any restonosis has occurred?  Should any other tests be considered?

Thanks Again - C

The best indicator is probably how you feel but yearly thalliums are a common follow-up test after a angioplasty.
