What is C reactive protein?  What is  desirable level?  How can it be improved?

Dear Best,

CRP is a marker of inflammation.  It is present with any injury cardiac or otherwise and in the setting of inflammation.  We now have data that statin therapy with Pravastatin may lower this level in patients with CAD and elevated cholesterol.
