Laser treatment for Psoriasis?

by Lee, Nov 13, 2000 12:00AM
Hi~ I've recently heard about Laser for the treatment of Psoriasis, has anyone heard about this? Does anyone know where I can do more research?

I heard that it can clear for up to 6 months...!

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Lee:

There are some preliminary studies that laser treatment can do a somewhat better job than traditional light treatments for localized psoriasis.  Lasers are certainly not the next big revolution in psoriasis therapy, but may be helpful in some cases if there is a doctor near you equipped to deliver it.  You should consult with a knowledgeable dermatologist who can discuss the pros and cons of various methods of treatment.

Best.
