Weight Loss Surgery after a total colectomy

I'm trying to have WLS. My surgeon has never dealt with anybody in my situation. 10 years ago I had a total colectomy where all of my large intestine was removed. My surgeon says he needs more information and needs to do more research and talk to Dr's that have actually been in this situation before. Has anybody else been through this or know of anybody that has had WLS after a total colectomy?

Just read your question, I also had a total colectomy and want to have Lap Band surgery. Would you tell me what you found out and if you were able to have WLS.
