Of course, you can't just choose to be vegan.  You also shouldn't do it just to be trendy.  Tell her it requires alot of research, learning, and work.  This is nothing to fool around with.  A young person who is still growing requires the right amount of protein, vitamins, and other things....A VARIETY of foods.  Are her parents aware of this?

You know  I have recently began a vegetarian diet (like yr and a half ago) and working towards vegan--- I'm 20 and doing it for 'health' reasons I started with organic...too long to explain, HYEPOD is 100%right she is extremely young to be doing this. It is a LOT of work and has required a lot of supplement research, proteins and vitamins that can be forgotten about. My hair actually started falling out and I had no energy cause I made the same mistake of just eating like carb food and that's it; it's not that easy...Why is she doing it first? Animal activist, religion, diet(weight loss)?? There is a way that young people can do this but requires more work and it's not cheap, but eating only a certain 'food group' is the worst thing you can do that's not even being vegan honestly. I'll check back and see if I can offer any advice Hopefully this helped?
