It might be a skin fungus (tinea versicolor) that you have already successfully treated, only it takes several months for the white color to even out.  If that's the case, you'll just have to wait, because there's no special treatment to speed the process.  To tell if it is the case, you will need to see a skin doctor in person.  At that visit you can discuss ways to treat any recurrence right away, so you won't have to deal with long-term white spots.  But they aren't permanent.

Take care.

I had been itching my leg..Front near knee..I developed a red spot..I put neosporin on it..It seemed to get dry with a dry patch on it..I have had it for about 2 weeks..It seems to go away but not completely, then gets red again..It itches but I try not to scratch it..I just wonder if I contacted something when I had my pedicure..I only have it on one leg and nowhere else on my body..I wonder if I can get something from over the counter to put on it..

Thank you
Josie

To: DOCTOR
I BEGAN TO DEVELOP A SKIN RASH SOMETIME AGO ON MY BACK AND FACE MY BACK LESION APPEARED TO BE LIKE AN MOSQUITO BITE A LITTLE HARD THEN IT OPENED USED ANTIFUNGAL ON IT HEALED BUT LEFT PITTED SCAR. SOME TIME LATER I DEVLOPED SMALL RED LESIONS UNDER MY CHIN TREATED WITH ANTIFUNGAL HEALED BUT TOOK SOMETIME VERY ITCHY. FINALLY I DEVELOPED A LESION ON MY CHIN IT RESEMBLED A PIMPLE BUT IT HAD A DARK CENTER WENT TO DOCTOR SHE GAVE ME WHAT I BELIEVE WAS AN ANTIFUNGAL OINTMENT CONDITION SEEM TO GET BETTER ITCHED I ALSO USED COVER UPTO COVER DARKNESS OF LESION.  I WILL ADMIT DUE TO THE ITCHING I DID PICK AT THE AFFECTED AREA MAKING LESION DARKER IN APPEARANCE AND CREATING SMALL PUSTULES AROUND THE AFFECTED AREA. BECAUSE OF PICKING THE AREA I HAVE DEVELOPED SCAR TISSUE ON MY CHIN PLEASE TELL ME IF I WAS MISDIAGNOSED IF THIS COULD BE MORE THAN SKIN FUNGUS  AND WHAT TO DO NEXT
