Not sure what to think

Dr-

Two weeks ago I started taking antibiotics for sore throat and cold.  Last week I started with a yeast infection.  It's pretty much over now, have been using miconazole for the past several 4 days.  This morning I noticed a small bump on the side of my labia minora.  I know that this wasn't there before!  There is no pimple like head, no discharge, odor etc.  It's painless and itchless.

I have something similar on the same side near the vaginal opening, have had it for several months, and it hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller, never itches or causes any pain.  I even pointed it out to my GYN, he barely saw it, but basically brushed it off as nothing.  Pap-smear results came back normal after that examination.

I'm 23 years old, not a virgin, but not practicing in regular sex either.  I haven't been sexually active since Jan. 2005

(I went to the GYN in April, the bump had been there since Jan at least).  I've never had unprotected sex, and have only given/received oral sex on one occasion, both with the same partner.  I guess I am just confused.  I am a nursing student, so I have come up with every worst case scenario in my head.

Thanks for your help!

Depending on the location of the bump, you may be feeling the opening of your Bartholin gland duct.  The Bartholin glands, which produce sexual lubricating fluid, are in the lower vaginal wall, one on each side; and their ducts open just outside the entrance to the vagina.  Sometimes such gland openings are somewhat enlarged in relation to surrounding tissue.  If so, you're just feeling a minor anatomical anomaly that isn't of any concern at all.

That is speculative, of course.  But the likelihood of an STD is very low, given the overall circumstances.  You might ask your gynecologist is a prominent Bartholin gland duct opening is possible, depending on the location.  If in doubt, you may want to get a second opinion.  But in the meantime, I wouldn't lose sleep over this.
