how do i gain weight?

I am 45 years old and the same weight i was in high school, 5 feet 4 inches, 100 pounds. i have never been able to gain weight like i wanted(only when pregnant and afterwards. i wear a size 5 now but would like to gain 15 or 20 pounds to a 7. I feel like I look skinny, but everybody tells me i still have my school girl figure. I dont want to be fat, just veluptuous with no skinny legs. I have lost weight recently due to stressors i guess, because i eat a lot,i love to eat good food, i make milkshakes, ice cream before bed, i eat good meals. Why can't i gain weight? What would be the quickest way for me to gain 20 pounds? Is there a shot or pill, or anything of the sort? Please tell me there is. If i look better i will feel better, less stress. I do not like the powdered Weight Gain you get at the Health Food Store, takes too long. I would like to gain 20 pounds in 2 weeks.Okay, who can help me? I haven't seen my fiance in 6 months(main reason for weight loss) He will be home in 2 weeks, and i want to look at least good if not veluptuous. Bring on the quick tips, please!

well i am 5'4" and when not prego i weight 115 and thats comfortable.  I am pregnant now and weight 127 in my 4th month.  Anyway, two years ago i weighted 98lbs and was stressed out.  I started exercising and eating a really balanced diet.  It was not hard to gain weight.  I lift weights moderately and run 3 to 5 miles a day.  I am pretty active and had no trouble.  You really might want to see a dr.  Perhaps its a thyroid disorder.  Better to check it out w/ a dr than not do anything at all.  And just eating to gain weight isnt healthy.  You have to feed your body good food.  good luck..

I also thought it was only me! I weigh 95 pounds not pregnant. I went to an endocronologist and sis blood work and they said nothing was wrong and that I should not complain! So I found a milkshake mix called Scandi Shake and they have made some difference. They are 600 calories when added to whole milk and they taste great! I take them at night before bed and I have put on about 5 pounds and have been able to keep that on! I would like to gain about 15-20 more and then I will be happy!!!!

yer ive tried protien drinks they didnt work. ive asked the doctor but they wont give me anythin! i have no confidence at all ,i quit my job and i dont go out. id feel so much better just to feel like i have a body. i used to be a bit bigger was still thin but had a nice shape , but i js cant get it back!

Me too!! I'm 27 5'5 and weigh about 97. I eat... a lot. No difference. the worst is that it is very easy for me to lose weight. If I am sick or have no appetite for any reason I can drop 3-4 lbs in a couple of days. It can take weeks to get it back. I have never tried to be thin. I eat whatever I want always.

People do ask about eating disorders and other ridiculous things and I do take offense. Some of us are just thin!  Then I look around and see all the horribly obese people and I don't feel so bad...
