General Questions on STD's

I am 28 year old male.



1. How long can STD infection last and is it possible that it will be resistant to antibiotics Eg: I have been trying to get rid of some groin pain possible infection with antibiotics

For 7 months on and off on cipro, dixocyline and amoxicillin TEV.  When I was on antibiotics pain disappeared totally for number of days, once I stopped using antibiotics pain came back.



2. If STD becomes resistant what are next steps of treatment?



3. Will STD go away without antibiotics? If yes how long it takes? Is there a natural cure someone can use instead of?

Antibiotics.



4. How safe is safe sex with a stranger? Is there many more STD's that have not been discovered ?



5. Can a person get a some other bacterial infection through sex?

other than common stds?

I had one time protected sex with a girl about 7 months ago

In a third world country

Which after that I begun developing some weird symptoms.

Started with intense pain in my left groin and sort of like electricity pulsing between my left groin and testis to the left lower back. . Went to doctors, I took STD test all were neg.

I took Doxycycline one for 7 days than 4 weeks later another 3 weeks of dyxocycline

Another month later 4 weeks on cipro   and than a month later I took 10 days of Amoxicillin TEV.

My symptoms have improved within time, very slowly though.

At 4 months after, I took another STD(tests all neg ) because  at that time I have developed a kind like a hairy tongue that looked like thrush ( my ENT said hairy tongue not thrush )  Until today I have this hairy tongue and a trought that feels like there is something stuck in my trought. ( ENT said it is gas that is causing this )

My left groin still does not feel right it is very sensitive and sort like very slight burning sensation in the penis (sometimes.)

I went to my doctor he has no idea what this could be I took testicular scans and they are OK.    My doctor says that I may have developed an obsessive behavior????

If it is an obsessive behavior than it surely feels real……

The pain / discomfort is somewhere near left groin also about 4-5 inches below belly button to the left. I have been told that it is not STD but I am almost positive that I got it through having sex .

There are no clear answers to the questions as you pose them; not all STDs are the same.  You can be certain you have no bacterial STD (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, etc); they could not persist after the treatments you have had.  No STD causes "groin pain" as a symptom, and I suspect your doctor is right in saying 1) you have no STD and 2) anxiety/stress might be causing your symptoms.  In any case, you can be certain you don't have anything that will harm you or a sex partner.

Hi. I am sure the doc will say that your problems are NOT std related and if you did ever have one the antibiotics would have cured it long ago. i know from personal experiance what anxiety and guilt can do, it's very powerful and not nice but at the same time the symptoms feel very real indeed. You dont say whether you have been tested since your exposure or indeed since your antibiotics. Did you ever test positive or were the antibiotics a precautionary measure?



If you haven't been tested at all maybe you should, if they are negative, and with you saying you had protected sex they will be, maybe you should consider seeing a uroligist as it wont be std related

Wait for the doc but i am sure he will say it's not an std issue and to see your halth care provider
