HIV and spots

by not_fun, May 20, 2007 12:00AM
I had a mad moment 3 days ago when I spent a few hours with a stripper.  I had protected sex however, I had prolonged oral sex and my penis came into contact (no penetration) with her virgina.

I am scared to death as I now have 5-6 tiny pimples on my penis head.

I have had pimples before related to irritation however,

Could I pick anything up with if my penis touched her virgina?

But more importantly could I get HIV from giving her oral sex?

Thank you for your help

The risk of catching HIV from receiving oral sex is zero, or close to it.  Brief penis-vagina contact like you describe also is close to zero risk.  Further, it is unlikely the stripper has HIV.  You don't need HIV testing on this account.  See many, many discussion on the HIV Prevention and Safe Sex Forum for more details.

As to your 'tiny pimples', the most common cause of such problems is genital herpes.  Many cases of unexplained penile 'irritation' also are herpes.  Other possibilities include yeast infection, especially if you are uncircumcised and the lesions are under the foreskin.  Whatever it is, since you have had it before, you can be certain it isn't something you picked up from the stripper.  I really can't say more about it.  You should see a health care provider right away, while the red spots are fresh, to get a proper diagnosis.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
