I am 27 yr old female. I had unprotected sex exposure 10/31/06 w/ a guy who claimed he had recently tested HIV negative when he got a vasectomy.  I have known him for 11 yrs so when he told me this initially, I trusted his word.He had done this because he had fathered a child through unprotected sex w/ a female of unknown status.
10/31/06 - high risk exposure unprot vag sex
01/16/06 - HIV/other STD test at OBGYN: all negative 2 and 1/2 mths after exposure
01/19/06 - White appearing on the inside of my cheeks. This was diagnosed by an urgent care facility as thrush 01/07, by an ENT doc as luekoplakia 03/07, by a dentist as luekodema 04/07, and by my PCP as lichen planus 03/07.  Also a tiny bit of swelling of the lower cheek.
03/16/06 - PCP HIV test 4 1/2 mths after exposure-neg/Epst Barr - showed past infection had occured, but not active/Thyroid - came out hypothyroid.
04/02/07 - extreme mono-like fatigue for a few days.
04/04/07 - started generic levothyroxine
04/07-present - odd burning sensation primarily in the neck and trap muscle area. Has yet to be explained. Also peanut sized lymph node in left side of neck.
05/16/07 - switched the meds to name brand synthoid thinking that could be the cause of burning and rash. Also had a head scan and full body scan done trying to find out what was causing the burning.

What is my risk of this being HIV knowing my exposure and my negative test timeframe?

How likely to turn pos after 4 1/2 mth neg test?

This question belongs on the HIV prevention forum, not here.  But the reply is very brief.  The mathematical calculation approach isn't useful or appropriate when the chance of HIV is zero.  Your negative HIV test 4+ months after your last exposure is proof positive you did not catch HIV.  Whatever is causing your symptoms, it cannot be HIV.  Aside from that, I have no opinion about the cause.  Follow up with your health care provider, but put HIV out of your mind.

No ongoing discussion, please.  You can take it to the HIV Support forum if you would like feedback from other forum users.
