Dear doctor:

Once again I thank you for your help. I took her to the pediatrician and she is to see a pediactric cardiologist one week from today. Her doctor believes she has a condition called tetralogy of fallot. My daughter's episodes of cyanosis did not begin until she was between 3-6 months of age and this could very well explain why she gets continous URI's. Is this true? Also if the echo reveals what this condition is surgical repair necessary at this point? Please tell me about this. Thank you so much.

Tetrology of Fallot can certainly lead to cyanosis. This can predispose to URIs. If she is cyanotic, she may be a candidate for surgical repair at this time. Modern results for repair of TOF are excellent.
