Opinion about Stress Test Results

Dear Dr.,

I would like your opinion about the results of Stress Test did recently.Conclusion was “Very well stress tolerance.Equivocal test for the diagnose of ischemia”,based on “Max.exercise done,by Bruce protocol,stopped by tiredness(13min.).Normal chronotropic evolution during exercise,although slow fall in HR in recovery.Normal tension evolution and no arrhythmias.Infra ST in the end of Stage IV,not consistent and most of in up slope,normal after 1min. in recovery. No angor.”

I’m a 40y cauc.male,BMI=23,5,usual BP=130-135/80-85,non drinker and non smoker but sedentary live(only walk to job and return daily,about 2 miles).The main issues in the test:

About 45min. later,in Cardio office,BP was 130/80.My Cardio did not valorize the ST issue-he said it hasn’t any problem and no more exams necessary.Only advised me for more exercise. My questions are:

1-Your opinion about the test and my heart health

2-What the parameters S and L represent. Are they Ok ?

3-You agree for no valorization of the ST issue and no more tests?

4-I think my initial recovery rate is not bad,since more 12bpm-ok?

You seem overly concerned with a good bill of health from your physician. I think you should reevaluate your relationship with him/her or look at yourself as his/her words of reassurance do not seem to be enough.

Only further information regardinh routine blood and urine tests-> They are in normal ranges (Cholestrol round 160, etc.)

Trust your cardiologist , if not seek a second opinion. Good luck and try and shake your obsession with your heart it's not you doing you or your heart any good. Take care, once again don't regard this as an insult, I know anything concerning your heart puts you on edge.

Tickertock...I just have to say, that I appreciate your posts.  I have been trying to post a question for almost a week, but I only have computer access m-f and everything is "full" as I am on PST:-(  It is a bit frustrating when people ask a duplicate question.  But, I also understand the "being on edge" issue when it comes to something so serious...a good rule of thumb is this "if I stress or worry about it, I am only making the problem (if I have one) more serious than what it is!"

anything past 10 minutes on the treadmill with the Bruce protocol and you are basically in good shape.  Which is what the poster is.
