numbness in fingers on both hands

I all of a sudden while shopping started feeling tingling in fingers on both hands not my thumbs.  is this a sign of something? anotti

next time it happens see if eating makes it go away if so be checked for diabetes, i have diabetes and it happens quiet often to me
