Scapula and arm pain after breast cancer surgery

I am more than five years cancer free now.  I had a partial mastectomy (left side) plus axillary disection.  I had chemo therapy and extensive radiation of the breast area. Is my scapula and shoulder pain, plus frequent painful arm pain in any way connected to this surgery?

Thank you for your response. I would like a litle more detail, but this is a help. I see my doctor this week and will share this with him.

Dear Bett, These factors could be connected to the pain you are experiencing.  There could be some scarring or swelling that has effected the area and nerves leading to pain.  You might want to bring this to the attention of your doctors especially if it is a relatively new pain so they can assess this more completely.
