Another test necessary ?

68yo 2 1/2 yrs. post Mod Rad Mastectomy ... no node involvement, no oncology consult (surgeon's decision) and no treatment. Hx of hip pain for a few months increased during physical therapy recently. Hip x-ray -- neg. Bone scan ?? suggestive of poss. metastatic disease. MRI looks OK but due to hx should have guided needle bx of trochanter. In your opinion is this additional test really necessary? I'm somewhat reluctant. Thanks .... great to have you back.

Dear japdip, This is a situation that you really need to discuss with your doctors, as relates to your specific situation. There is not enough information to comment about the necessity of biopsy or not.
