No orgasm sensation in abdomin after cesarean, muscle cramping and pain

by ycarT001, Aug 26, 2005 12:00AM
For 20 years, prior to c-section child birth, I had very intense orgasms. After my c-section there is zero sensation in my stomach, it is as if the nerves have been cut. I can acheive orgasm but the sensation has been "cut" down to 25%. There is still some numbness on scar tissue. A Dr. told me that the nerves were damaged and wouldn't heal. The only feeling I have is sometimes a shooting pain on the left side of abdomin. Sometimes the stomach muscles just accutely cramp up, which I feel little pain, takes some time to stretch to relax the muscles.

QUESTION?.. is there a procedure to fix this nerve damage? Am I the only one in the world with this problem?? I have not found anything online!! HELP!!

if the nerves have been cut i know there is a shot that you can get im unsure of the name, i used to go to a site about hernia repair surgery (i have had 4) and there were a few people on there who had nerve damage and they were recieving shots. i will try and look for ya, i'll post back if i find it

Uh, I'm familiar with the site the other poster listed. If you want to do medical research on the internet, make sure you go to reputable sites. WebMD is a great site for consumer information, and there are plenty others. Please post back if you want more suggestions.

As for your issue with the loss of sensation, unfortunately your experience isn't that uncommon. My husband experienced something quite similar during inguinal hernia repair. And unfortunately, I don't know of anything to help the numbness after your nerve(s) have been cut. It is probably at least mostly permanent; you may get some sensation back as the nerve regrows, but it takes a LONG time - years, if ever - for that to happen. Ask your doctor for a referral to a specialist. If you experience pain, ask about trying Neurontin or Elavil; both have been shown to help with neuropathic pain, and Elavil has helped my husband tremendously.

I wish I had better news for you. It's okay to feel a sense of loss, and to feel angry and/or hurt that this has happened. However, I can tell you that you can relearn to appreciate your orgasms just as they are. It basically takes an open mind and a childlike sense of playfulness; try to approach it without having any particular goal, and see what happens. I know it sounds dumb, but truly it may turn out to be one of the best things that's happened to you. I wish you all the best.

i also get muscle cramping on the area where they stitched me up on the inside and its been a year and i still dont feel anything on my lower stomach..you can pinch me as hard as you can and i dont feel a thing. =( you're not alone. but i wanted to ask you.. do you have any lower back pain and/or side area around the hip? ever since the surgery i get intolerable pain on my leg around the joint area by the hip/thigh that literally takes my breath away from the pain. does anyone know what this might be?

Did you ever figure out what was causing your pain?  I have the exact same pain through my lower left quadrant and through my hip and back.  I don't have the same numbness though.  The pain comes and goes and seems to get much worse when i exert myself.
