Dear Karen Ruth,

It is difficult when someone is uncertain of their diagnosis.

I recommend you read my answer posted 9/11/99.

Personality Disorders may also called be Axis II disorders, and BPD or borderline personality disorder is one type of personality disorder.  It is not uncommon for people to suffer from bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder at the same time..

Continue with treatment, discuss your concerns with your psychiatrist.

Good Luck.

Sincerely,

HFHS M.D.-SW
