Thyroid problems and Toxic Mold

jimlow: and ar1281a

Here's something that I found quite interesting.
Not only am I having problems with thyroid but my boyfriend just had a follicular mass on his thyroid and they removed half of his thyroid glad. Here's the thing. We moved out of an apt. a year ago that had a severe mold problem. In fact we didn't even move any of our furniture with us because we thought it was contaminated with mold. I was talking to my mother recently and she mentioned that she heard about a family that had severe reactions to the mold in their house much like the symtoms for thyroid conditions. I think there's a link to the problems we are having, because how could we both start having thyroid problems at the same time. I may have to contact an attourney.
The information about mold came from www.mold-help.org/ Maybe you guys can take a look at it and see what you think.

Sorry so long.

Hi Bonnie, I will be checking out that website! There are many medical sites that say invironmental factors may be involved in autoimmune thyroid diseases. Some state they believe some types of infections can go into the thyroid gland and that this is what the antibodies are attacking and not actually the gland itself (many theories out there)!
Dr.s are still trying to find the causes of A.I. diseases, I hope they accomplish this soon!
