vaginal cuts

by diotima, Sep 19, 2005 12:00AM
I get recurring tiny, little cuts on the entrance to my vagina (the lips, I think). They are very small...just like a "paper cut" but sometimes they can be a few centimetres long. They make sex very painful. I have noticed that I don't get these cuts when I go without sex.

Any doctor I have mentioned these to haven't had a clue what I'm talking about.

I also get recurrent thrush (candida) and was wondering if maybe the 2 are related.

Hi - I think there have been two postings similar to yours in the STD forum in the last 2 or 3 weeks (you should take a look at it).  The STD forum, unlike this one, is hosted by Dr. Handsfield, an STD specialist.  In any case, according to what I read there, if the cuts appear only after sex and heal propmtly, then they are caused by intercourse and there is nothing to worry about.  Try using extra lubrication.  On the other hand, "paper cuts" are sometimes a sign of genital herpes.  Also, yeast infection is the most common condition for which genital herpes is confused in women.  However, lesions due to herpes are NOT triggered by sex.  So if you are completely sure that these are caused by sex, then that's what it is.  If you are not sure, you should see a specialist in STDs or a dermatologist.  Good luck.

Hello,
I have a question with regards to my girlfriend. She has cuts around the walls of her vagina and this is causing her so much pain when urinating. It all started after a weekend of us making love.We both leave in different cities and we only see eachother once in two months. We are faithful to oneanother,so it is not a case of STD.What can I do about this?

Hi when i have sex it seems i get cuts in the entrance of my vagina, I find it very hard to go to the toilet when i need to pass water. It stings and also causes a burning sensation. I have been using sudocrem bt it doesnt really seem to be helping. It gets particularl itchy in the morning. Is this an STD or is it just a yeast infection? Shall i continuing using suocrem or go and see gyno/doctor?
