Skin feels like on fire/cool to the touch

I'm begining menopause....not sure if this is a symptom or not. My upper back thigh and butt cheek feel like they are on fire but are cool to the touch. Usually while sitting but occasionally while I'm on my feet. It is not painful but very strange feeling, almost like I'm sitting on a very hot heating pad. I have no idea what is causing it and don't want to run to a doctor and look foolish if there is a simple explanation. I have not changed anything as far as soaps or diet. Anyone out there experience something like this?

That is weird. You should NEVER feel foolish to ask your dr. I am wondering if it is poor circulation or a nerve you are pinching when sitting. Just put a call in and ask. They may be able to tell u over the phone. I called the ER once to ask if an ear infection was suppose to hurt as bad as it did LOL. Good luck & call that doc.

Don't feel foolish. I have the same symptoms except it is mostly confined to my sacral area. I have no idea what this is and I am a nurse. I am still searching for answers.
