chronic organic brain disease

by sandra decenzo, Apr 23, 2000 12:00AM
my husband was diagnosed with COBD about 4 weeks ago, started very quickly , it began in January. He sleeps constantly, everything is foggy to him, he is taking 200mg of zoloft wich is no longer working, glyburide for type 2 diabetes. my question is is this terminal, does the brain just cease to function, will he go to a vegetated state, or die. and how long does the whole process take?

thank you,

Sandra,

Chronic organic brain disease is a non-specific diagnosis indicating damage to the brain.  Without more information it is impossible to clarify this issue or make specific recommendations.  Please ask your husbands physician to discuss this further with you.  Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Sincerely,

HFHS MD-JM
