Heat bumps or lack of vitamin?

by lheartdawnie, Oct 19, 2005 12:00AM
I get these tiny bumps on my forehead around the same time every year. I've had one person tell me they are heat bumps and another tell me they are from a lack of vitamins. They are kind of like the bumps people may get on their arms or legs. I know they are not acne because they never develope into acne... and they just go away. But there are a bunch of them just spread out on my forehead. I can see them being heat bumps, since i do live in houston... but if they are from a lack of vitamins.. then i kind of need to know which ones so i can add that to my list of vitamins that i take now. hehe. If it doesnt sound like either of those... does someone know what they are?

Thanks so much!

Maybe you are allergic to something in the season.  I know I have eczema, mostly in the winter that goes away in the summer.

hey. i get these little bumps on my forehead too. someone told me they we're called heat bumps. i always get them at this time of year. it's not hot over here so i don't know what exactly causes my heat bumps. maybe it's the heat from my house. but i don't know what these bumps are or how they are  caused.

I have this too (and live in Houston).  I first got them last year and they went away but now they're back. Heat makes them worse but nothing seems to make them better. I've taken acidolpholous (sp?) as I think it's a colon/toxin (yeast?) related issue. My dermotologist has no clue about it either. It has to be either a colon thing or liver/kidney related. Skin problems usually have little to do with the skin and more to do with what's inside the body. Help!

Yeh I just saw my dermatologist and he told me what I thought was "milia" (dozens of tiny, stubborn fleshy-colored bumps) is not - they are just clogged pores, waiting to erupt as whiteheads. Apparently "milia" are really hard, ball-like tiny cysts. Anyway, he put me on Differin which apparently is a retinoid very similar to Retin - A. Retin- A micro worked for me in the past for a few years, but then it stopped working altogether and I started to get nodules and cysts for the first time.

So right now I'm applying Differin at night and a thin layer of BP in the morning....hopefully this combination will get rid of those damned annoying bumps! My acne is pretty mild though...mainly just loads of those little bumps and the occasional pustule. The Regimen did a good job bringing everything under control, but I suspect the constant slathering of BP on my face night and day had the unintended effect of clogging up some of my pores, i.e. those little white bumps.

Hi,

My husband works outside all day long, every day.  He recently came home with red mosquito bumbs all over his forearms.  I can't seem to figure out what they are.  He says that they itch very badly and his skin is dry and even peeling around some of the bumbs.  Everything that I look up refers to it as heat bumbs, but he has never had this happen before, and like I mentioned earlier he is in the sun everyday.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

well am in school and me being an adoldecent have acne. Its not all that bad bad but in the past few days I've notice a bunch of really small tiny bumps appearing on my forehead.I dont know if they are just acne or what. I also have little ting ones on my hand and a few on my stomach and when i scratched the ones on my stomach they became bigger like a mosquito bite. I dont know exactly whats the prblem but am using a mask cleaser that dont seem to be working very much. So i started using toothpaste to dry up the bumps and it worked a little.

I noticed getting small itchy bumps on my hands when I came back from a trip to Mexico.  I thought maybe it was something that I ate, or the water or I was having an allergic reaction to something I touched.  I went to see my doctor and she gave me a creme (cannot remember what it was called, its been 4 years).  I used it religiously, and the bumps went away.  After that trip, I have been getting these bumps on my hands every summer.  Its usually when I have been out in the sun. I believe its heat bumps also.  They itch really bad.
