Weight gain and loss

by StressedOutHubby, Aug 08, 2007 11:03AM
Hi:  My wife has end stage liver disease from years of undiagnosed HepC.  Last summer she was looking anorexic, now she is gaining weight, anyone have similar experiences?

My mom shifts from weight loss and weight gain.  I believe at times foods taste better to her than others.  She is also diabetic which means she has to eat and can't skip a meal because she just doesn't feel like eating, but I know she'll go thru these quirks where nothing tastes good or everything that she once loved now tastes like paper.

How long did your wife have hep c before she knew she had it? because they never found it in me till about 2 yrs ago.....and think ive had it 25 to 30 years.

you may want to get her in to be seen to see if it is from water retention or abdominal fluid build up. Obviously if it's a healthy weight gain that would be good, but if it is from water, then she will need treatment/drugs to rid her of that before it puts more strain on heart/liver etc.
wishing you both well.
