by marcs30thz, Aug 09, 2007 05:17AM
For about two months I have noticed my left nipple has been sore and feels like there is a lump.Really intense pain if I push on it. I can tell a difference between nipples in touch. I am a 25 year old male. I dont have health insurance at the moment and why I thought I would post here, Thanks.

I don't know anything about male breast cancer but if you feel a lump, find a good low cost health clinic to see a doctor.  If you live anywhere near a large city, there are clinics available.  If there is a teaching hospital give them a call.  Call  around until you find someone who can help.
Check with Susan B Komen webstite or the American Cancer Society.  They both have 1-800 #s where you can talk to someone. Only about 1 percent of all breast cancer is in men but if you're concerned, don't wait to get checked.  Take good care of yourself.

Hi,

Most breast lumps are not cancerous.

Symptoms of male breast cancer include lumps, changes to the nipple or breast skin - redness or scaling, skin dimpling or puckering, or  nipple discharge.

What you need to do is get a clinical breast examination done by a physician. If he notices something amiss he will suggest a mammogram and USG.

It would then be possible on the basis of these reports to decide whether a core needle biopsy or a surgical excision biopsy would be required in your case.

Let us know if this helps and if you have any other doubts.

Regards.

Hi,

How are you doing now?

Have you seen a doctor for our symptoms as yet? Have any investigations been done?

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us about what your doctor advises.

Regards.
