Cirrhosis symptoms?

by LJ2007, Aug 10, 2007 07:16AM
Hi, 36 female with history of heavy drinking. Almost everyday in my twenties, took three years off when kids were born, and then probably two times a week until March 07 when I quit. I had developed white toenails about three years ago. Bloodwork and Ultrasound were normal. Podiatrist said not fungal. Last October I developed three small spider angiomas on chest, bloodwork again was normal and Ct scan was normal except for two cysts and two old calcified granulomas in liver which Dr. said was no big deal. No free fluid and veins were patent. Since March more spiders have developed on my arms and more recently my palms turned very pink and splotchy. All bloodtests have been normal (five in the last two years),  Dr. said I'm needlessly alarming and does not believe I have Cirrhosis. I switched Doctors and the new Dr. thinks it's guilt, not cirrhosis. They have me scheduled for yet another ultrasound but will not schedule a biopsy with normal bloodwork. Dermatologist says spiders are just aging. Does anyone know if it is possible to have three major symptoms of Cirrhosis (Terry's nails, red palms, and spiders) and not have liver disease? Could these symptoms be caused from chronic heavy drinking alone? I'd really appreciate any input. Thanks.
