Uncomfortable Swollen Left Tonsil

Hi,
My left tonsil is visibly enlarged, and it is very uncomfortable. I don't have much pain - more like a slight sore throat and "hay fever" kind of feeling - but I'm constantly feeling the swollen tonsil with my tongue. It feels like something that could be dislodged, like a pustule, but I don't see any white spots.
Does anyone have experience with this or know what it could be attributed to? Could it be allergies?
