Do miracles happen with the e-book 'Miracles Do Happen'?

by confusedinwa, Dec 29, 2005 12:00AM
Does anybody know anything about the so called "Miracles Do Happen" e-book, which is promoted by the become-pregnant.com web site?  It promices a lot, but for the certain price.  It talks a lot about the special "secret", which instantly makes almost every infertile woman pregnant...

It sounds a lot like a gimmick, so please let me know if you've read it and can recommend it...

Gimmick.

Miracles may happen sometimes, but typically those they happen too don't market e-books about how to get them to happen to other people.

Way to get a plug in, by the way!

by sunshineysmile, Dec 29, 2005 12:00AM
i personally think she was wondering about the product, not just trying to get her "plug in". this isnt the first time she posted so it's not like she's here trying to sell stuff.

by who_is_this, Dec 29, 2005 12:00AM
She mentions a website and the name of a product for sale that claims to have the secret to "instantly makes almsot all  infertile women pregnant".  And posts it on a public forum inhabited by many infertile women?

Ok, I was wrong.  I can see how someone would be confused by a claim like that.  It does sound legit, come to think of it.   Just forget I said anything.  Sorry, Confusedinwa.

by confusedinwa, Dec 29, 2005 12:00AM
I'm sorry if anybody got an impression that I'm promoting that site.  I've been trying to get pregnant for almost 11 years now and so tired of tests and doctors who keep telling me that there's nothing wrong with me, though they have no explanation for the infertility either.

I'm desparate and confused, and while reading posts on this forum I saw the ad for the book.  I've read the description and the story was so familiar, that I almost cried...  But when I got to the bottom of the page I was very alarmed at the number of "Place The Order Now" banners and talks about the "secret" and why it cannot be revealed without the buying that e-book.  I've tried to find references on the web and there was none.  There is no printed version of the book either...  So it even further made me to feel that something is fishy there.

I don't want to get conned, but I'm also willing to try almost anything.  I got burned a few times already and don't want to repeat the same mistake again.

So, if anybody actually read the book and could tell me if it's worth the price or is it just a very nasty gimmick, targeting those of us, who lost any hope and faith...   If it's a legit thing, then by sharing this "secret" you'd do much service to all of us.  If it's not, then it will serve as good warning to all as well.  Isn't why we are here, to help each other?

What testing have you had done? Has your dh been tested, too?

That honestly sounds like a gimmik to me.  I would not try it.

If you want detailed info on charting cycles and some other useful hints, the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is quite helpful.  (Disclaimer: I am on here all the time and am only mentioning this book because I have had personal success with it.  I have no affiliation with it what-so-ever.  I didn't want anyone to think that I had personal gain in advocating this book.  Thanks.)

I had a friend recommend it to me after I tried for over a year to get pregnant.  A lot of the info you can get on here or on the internet, but it is a really helpful book.

The friend that recommended it to me had been trying for over 11 years to get his wife pregnant to no avail.  They had been to countless fertility doctors and nothing worked.  Finally, a new dr. recommended this book to them, and they concieved within 2 cycles -- after 11 years of trying.  They now have a 6 month old baby boy.

I personally tried it after thier recommendation, and got pregnant after 2 cycles as well.  Granted I miscarried that one, but I got pregnant right after and am now 34 weeks along.

Who knows maybe we would have gotten pregnant anyway, but I would try this book before some e-book online if I were you.  It is one thing to say that it will help you with getting pregnant, but to offer a miracle, I seriously doubt it.  I wouldn't waste my money if I were you.

Good luck to you -- Baby dust *************

Take care,

Amanda

Me and my husband did all the usial work-up the doctors could come up with, short of actually doing IVF.  Ultrasound, genetics, semen analysis, tests on thyroid disfunctions and PCOS, and good deal of other tests, from blood to x-ray scan of ovaries ...  I've been doing two 3-month cycles of Clomid, with artificial insemenation...  Nothing...  But I did get pregnant a few years ago on my own, but I was so confused and the HPT showed negative, so I didn't believe it, until the day of MC and blood tests in the ER indicated that I was indeed pregnant.

By the way, all 3 of my sisters, who had been married from 11 to 1 years, are having the same problem.  Only one of them got pregnant once on her own and lost it on 12th week.  After a year of trying she got pregnant with the IVF and now on her 5th month...

Thanks, MandaJo111

I'll check it out, though I've tried charting cycles before.  I also tried the ovulation monitor... I've also tried acupuncture with herbs and vitamins.  Progesterone cream helped me to get pregnant the first time, but after negative HPT I lost the faith and stopped the progesterone treatment, and a few days later got MC...  I'm still kicking myself for doing that...

I'm no expert, but I can relate to your story, though we've only been trying for about 4 years. It sounds like your problem is possibly one of estrogen dominance, which in relation means lower progesterone levels, and I'm beginning to think my problem is the same. I know what you mean about trying everything. People who've gotten pregnant by accident or within a year or two just don't understand how frustrating it is to watch the months turn into years and hear doctors give possible solutions that never pan out. My ovulation monitor tells me exactly when I'm going to ovulate. I take my robitussin when I'm ovulating. I take my multivitamin and baby aspirin every day. I lay on my back with my hips elevated for at least 30 mins after we bd, though I've tried laying different ways, even standing on my head!  My husband's sperm is perfectly fine. Everyone has a piece of advice. "you're trying to hard!" "you're not trying hard enough!" "you should try a different obgyn!" I might try progesterone cream again, but maybe not full doses...I don't know. I feel like I'm my own personal science experiment. I can only imagine the pain you've been in, waiting 3 times as long. I wouldn't purchase that e-book. It really sounds like a scam.

by nanakay, Dec 30, 2005 12:00AM
i DO NOT want this to come off bad, but......stop trying!!!!!

what you are discribing with all the pills, meds, elevating hips sounds like your body is defying you!

skip a month, then on the next month ditch the monitors and calendars and stuff....after af leaves every other night light some candles put on something sexy and 'make love' to you dh.

baby making shouldn't be a chore and I KNOW after years of trying it is no longer 'wow my dh looks sexy tonight lets boodle' it's 'come on honey the monitor said we should do it'

if you don't enjoy it your body can and will keep those little swimmers at bay.  i've heard this story time and time again....even from myself.

trust me when i say i have been on your roller coaster and i wouldn't wish that ride on my worst enemy but sometimes you have to put it in Gods hands.

baby dust to you both and i hope you have a very romantic passionate evening soon.

I agree, I think it's a total rip off.  Anyone that truly wanted to see infertile couples get their BFPs would not do so for a buck.  BTW, what is your diet like?  Have you tried changing your diet to help in conception?

by shubunkin2974, Dec 30, 2005 12:00AM
i TOTALLY agree with what nanakay said! good luck!

by confusedinwa, Dec 30, 2005 12:00AM
Just an update... Miracles do happen!!!  Did HPT today... POSITIVE!  Went to the Dr's office... Did urine and blood tests... POSITIVE!!!  After 11 years of trying it happened by itself...

:)

Thank you all for the advice!

P.S.: To all who is trying... Don't loose your hope and don't try too hard.

I am so TOTALLY happy for you confused!!!! And tanks you so much for posting the update. You give hope to a lot of women that come here feeling lost and hopeless. If after 11 years it can happen for you, then it can totally happen for these other ladies that are trying and so desperate to have a ray of hope.

Take care of yourself and NO champagne for you missy! Happy New Year!! What a great way to start it out!
