Liposuction safe for those with hypothryoidism?

by nataliemlaruccia, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
I have hypothyroidism and take the appropriate amount of levothryoxine according to my endocronologist and train extremely hard in the gym five or six days a week, dance professonally, and am very careful with what I eat but I can't lose the extra weight. Can liposuction help me or would my hypothyroidism lessen the effects of liposuction?

As long as you are medically cleared for surgery (and It sounds lie you are), then there is no reason you could not undergo successful liposuction.  Many of the patients I have treated very effectively are on supplemental thyroid medication.
