liposuction on ankles and repair of earlier lipo

by LynnSB, Jun 14, 2007 12:00AM
When liposuction was very new, about 19 years ago, I had some performed on my legs. I have heavy ankles, although I am slender. The results were great on the outside and behind  but not on the front and inside of the ankles.  I also at the last minute asked my surgeon to take out a little bit of fat from the inside of my knees . He was working with a fellow who did that and I'm afraid goofed, leaving me with some ripping and a hole about the size of a quarter on the inside of one thigh a few inches above my knee. I never tried to have this repaired because I was busy raising my son ( i got pregnant not too long after the lipo) and dealing with other things. Now I would really like to get the ripples and "hole" fixed if possible. My surgeon tried about 12 years ago filling the hole in with fat but it really did nothing. I'm wondering about new generation lipo or facial fillers used in the hole? Also is there any hope for my ankles being improved with new lipo techniques? Thanks!

Both liposuction and fat injection techniques have improved since your revision procedure 12 years ago.  Smaller cannulas and refined techniques may achieve a better and more precise result about you ankles.  Harvesting of fat to fill the indentation of your thigh, along with revision of the liposuction around this area may also produce a better result.  I suggest getting another opinion from an experienced plasic surgeon.
