Diet Pills and Pregnancy

Hi, I am pregnant, but I do not want to gain a lot of weight during my pregnancy, and I was thinking on taking natural diet pills called: Hoodia, I want to know if that can affect the baby.

Most weight gain in pregnancy is normal. Depending on your baseline weight, a pregnant woman can expect to gain anywhere from 10 to 60 pounds during the course of the pregnancy. Much of this is water. The average weight gain in pregnancy is about 1 pound a week.  Much of this is thought to be important for helping to support the pregnancy.

If you feel that your weight is abnormal, please consult your pregnancy care provider before attempting any weight control therapies, especially those found over the counter.
