Unilateral swollen lymph node in groin with hard bumps in labia majora

by 222, Mar 19, 2007 12:00AM
Several weeks ago I had a hard, slightly tender bump on my upper labia majora.

11 days ago I underwent an abortion. Last Thursday I noticed another bump in the same area only more tender, SERIOUS itching in the area. Over the weekend I noticed that several other small bumps had formed. They seem to be deep and are not seen on the surface. I did scratch them so now they have small scabs but no ulcerations or pus, a VERY small amount of clear fluid. They do not "look" like herpes and I have no history of HSV.

My partner complained of having a sore testicle (only one). He developed a sore throat, general malace and lower back pain over the weekend. Today I have noticed that my lymph node in the groin area is becoming VERY sore and is slightly swolen. I have no new bumps though and the ones that developed over the weekend seem to be resolving.

1. Can an infected oil pore infect other pores due to scratching?

2. Could my partner and my symptoms be related? (We have not had sex in 2 weeks.)

3. Could I have caught something at the clinic?

4. With no history and with the bumps not looking like classic herpes I question this.

5. I am questioning if I could have Lymphogranuloma venereum. We live in Southeastern Florida.

6. If I have HSV or LGV is it possible that I got it some other way than my partner having sex with someone else?

7. My immune system is low, could I just have a skin infection that spread due to scratching and my weakened immune system, causing the unilateral lymph soreness and swelling?

You will need to take this up with a gynecologist who is familiar with vulvar disorders.
