Pain Control - Help

by Marigold719, May 26, 2007 12:00AM
Just wanted to hear who hear has IC and how are they being treated for pain?  I am in constant pelvic pain and bladder pain.  Had Hydro on Thurs. and when I recover from that, I usually get a couple of months relief from urgency, but not pain.  Any suggestions, other than water and diet.  I take hydroxyine, diazapan for bladde spasms.

Consider evaluation by a qualified pelvic floor physical therapist. Up to 80% of IC sufferers can have levarot muscle spasm, which can be painful. A pelvic floor physicall therapist can help release the spasm, which can lessen the painful symptoms.

To: Obstruction
Is there obstruction?  I have read research that hydronephrosis is not consitantly correlated with pain. It is usually obstruction that causes pain and hydronephrosis.  In order to rid yourself of pain the obstruction must be dealt with. I too have hyrdronephrosis.  Moderate and mild. But It was not the hydro that caused the pain when doing a sonogram or ivp they found fetal obstruction and that is what was causing pain.
