breathing problems and bad back

For the past 5 months I have been ill. It started out with what I thought was a virus but almost 5 months later I'm still not feeling 100%. I have had within the last 3 months a Colonoscopy, Endoscopy which showed I had h. pylori and was put on a three med script for 2 weeks.  I was also told by the doctor performing the endo that I had a hiatal hernia. I have had a upper G. I series that showed normal esphagus(sp?) flow and no signs of a hiatal hernia.

I also have herniated disks in the C4,C5,C6,C7 with bone spurring.

My problem that I'm most concerned other than the h. pylori is my breathing problems. I have had chest x-rays, cat scans of the lungs and lung capacity test while in the hospital where they put some device on my finger and take a reading. I can't seem to expand my chest. Maybe I've picked up the habit of not doing so because of my back.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Dear Abbey,
It sounds like you had quite a bit of testing done on your lungs and oxygen levels.  You need to ask YOUR DOCTOR to help you understand your test results and what you should do to help your lungs get back to 100%.  Did you get any diagnosis for your lung condition?  Did you get any treatment plan to help you get your lungs back to normal?  Sometimes it can take a while to recover from a bad cold or infection, but work with your doctor.
Aloha,
Starion
