pain and dizziness

by jennief, Mar 03, 2005 12:00AM
I have a deviated septum and have suffered many sinus problems over the years but now it has become much worse. I have this constant throbbing behind my nose and a feeling of fullness in my head. i also get really dizzy when i lie down or turn my head and my eyes keep geting blurred.

I have been to my doctors who prescribes me antibiotics but this doesn't seem to do much good. i also feel as if I want to sneeze a lot but often cannot. Please help as this is making my life miserable. I am a 52 year old female. Thank you for your time.

It is very important to find out if you have a chronic sinus problem or not.  Your symptoms are compatible with this, but making sure of the diagnosis is important.  I would suggest getting a CT of the sinuses.  A good ENT specialist is the person to make this assessment and guide the therapy.  If one or more of the sinuses are blocked, he will need to decide how to proceed.  This may be with medical intervention for a while to see if this relieves the problem or, more likely with a deviated septum, surgery may be the solution.
