Bad Smell in my nose (continued)

To foulfighter from the first part of this forum. Have you tried the "sinus drop" from therabreath? it actually worked for me. the smell stopped. the only problem is the bad breath problem which i think i need to cut my tonsils out. but i don't think it's a permanent stop. the only i only thing to do is keep bottles around you. but you getting a wife out of it, is really a miracle.  cheers.

Are you able to ask the ent to give you  a suction of the sinus to get the green mucous and bad smell out and the anti fungal spray?

Had a second sinus surgery which was basically just an irrigation of my right sinuses.  the ent said that he needed to leave the packing in for a week since the last time he took out the packing my sinuses closed up due to swelling which caused the same problem i had before. that was the week from hell.. but when i went in he was able to suction out all of the mucus that accumulated and he gave me an anti-fungal nose spray (Itraconazole).  it has been a week since i've seen my ent and i'm 98% better.  i no longer have the green mucas and the smell is very slight on rare occasions which could be all in my mind. either way I'm so relieved.  the ent said that i have fungus in my sinuses caused by mold.  i live in south florida and with the prior hurricanes there has been a lot of mold around so it makes sense.  Good luck to all of you I pray that you will get relief also.

To dotse: Hi. Yeah, I have tried the drop from therabreath. They gave me temporary relief but the problem would come back in 30-60 minutes. So it was kind of hard having to do that that constantly at work.

Anyway continuing where I left off. I did not take the surgury to straighten my nasal passages. I will leave that as a last resort cause it is so costly.

But I did try the oil of oregano and it seems to be working so far.  But I will continue to test with it a few weeks more and see how it goes.

What kind of sinus surgery did you have? Do you have anything besides the bad smell in your nose? I have green mucous every day thick that gets stuck in my throat and i also have tonsil stones, went to an ent (my 3rd different ent in a year and a half!)This one tells me my adnoids and tonsils look cryptic but doesnt believe i have an infection but doesnt give me a throat culture or doesnt want to send my mucos to the lab because he says it gonna come back as staph anyway. so ive tried almost everything now he put me on a double dose of mucinex and nasal rinse so far no luck yet but ive about 4 more weeks to go before i go back.Im sooooo frustrated with doctors If I dont get better soon.Im seriously going on T.V. and let America know that doctors dont care to make you better, they all constantly put my on stuff that ive been on before that dont work but they dont listen. So if someone on TV will listen to what I have to say IM SICK OF TIRED OF BEING SICK THIS IS RIDICULOUS! sorry for venting.

i had surgery and it didn't help.  i'm back to the way i was before the surgery.  the ent gave me steroids to open my sinuses since they were swolen and an antibiotic solution to irrigate my sinuses with since he doesn't want to give me oral antibiotics since they only feed fungi.  the flush helps the smell somewhat but if i don't use for a day the smell is back.  my ent told me that to clear up a fungus in my sinuses could take up to 5 months and 2 to 3 more surgeries.  i'm so frustrated.  when i blow my nose it's usually green or yellow and smells like dirty feet.  sometimes after i use the flush and i blow my nose it smells like cigarette smoke smells after you've used bleach to clean with...  don't know if that makes sense to anyone, but it's the only way i can describe.  i will keep you posted as to what the doc says.  i see him tomorrow. btw the culture they did to see if it was a fungus took a month and came back that i didn't have a fungus but my doctor still feels it is fungus related so he's treating as such.  i will get a second opinion before i have another surgery.  sinus surgery is a horrible thing. i've had major surgeries and this one topped the list of being really bad.  good luck to you all and hang in there because i'm not stopping til i get to the bottom of this.

http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar2.html#reflux

This is the site I got the info from. I've only been trying it for a few days. I use the Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. It only cost 2.89 and its working for me. Two table spoons in the morning (kinda early so it has a chance to kick in before I leave the house), two table spoons mid day and two later in the afternoon. I dilute it in water. I have been to 7 dentisit, an internist and had numerous tests done to check for this and that all of which came up with nothing until I went to a gastroenterologist who (after a series of more tests) diagnosed me with mild acid reflux (that causes dragon breath). Anyway I did Nexium for a month and I thought it was working but it isn't.
After spending so much to think I found relief in a three dollar bottle. Geeeeeeeeez.

Has anyone tried the ACV tablets? I'd like to know if those would work. They'll probably be a lot more pleasant to take than the liquid ACV.

Best of luck to all!!!

When i went to look for the apple cider vinegar, i saw a different sorts of the products. and i'm kept wondering which one to buy. is there one especially to cure bad breath? i don't care about the cost bacause you can't put a price tag on chronic bad bad breath.

I too suffered from the same problem. I believe I've had this problem for 8-9 years now. In the beginning I though it was because of my braces...... and after they were removed I though my problem was solved. Well it wasn't!

My boyfriend was the first to tell me I had bad breath. He loves to joke and play all the time.  One day we were joking and he nick named me LATOSIS. LOL.  I laughed at first....at the time it was really funny.... then I asked him if I had bad breath....he replied yes.

The next day I scheduled an appointment with my Dentist...for him to only tell me...oh! Nothing is wrong with mouth....Your teeth and gums are healthy. My next visit was with my Doctor.... he sent me to an ENT. The ENT says I had allergies

For the bad breath try apple cider vinegar. Braggs is really good. Is there a chance the bad breath may be coming from acid reflux instead of your tonsils. Thats what happened in my case.
