Tonsillectomy

by orchiola, Sep 19, 2006 12:00AM
Hello! Every other month I have enlarged tonsils and lymph node that turn over to cold or bacterial infection. I can see the pus stuck in the tonsils. My Dr gets me on antibiotics. I'm 29 years old, thinking about tonsillectomy(removing the tonsils). Are there any other options of getting the issue solved? Thank you!

A culture of the pus would give some information as to the bacteria causing the problem.  Then a longer course of antibiotic that is better targeted against the identified bacteria can be taken.  After this surgery may not be needed.
