worried about complications

I was dx with copd 8 months ago after being hospilized for acute shortness of breathe.  I had a severe cough couldn't sleep or eat.  In the last 8 months I have lost 35 pounds and don't have an apettite most of the time.  My latest spirometer test showed moderate to severe disease.  One doctor said emphysema another said copd.  I get short of breath with normal activites and am exghausted most of the time.  Since I was put on Sprivia and combivet my cough has only been bad when I would have a fever.  I also have osteoporsis so I am terrifed each time I am put on a steriod.  Recently when I walk around for short a time or blow dry my hair etc. my heart rate exceeds 100 bpm.  My sats were 97 resting at my last appointment. Is it possible that my sats are dropping upon mild exertion?

Yes, this is possible.  You may be just able to keep up your levels at rest and with mild exertion, they fall precipitously.  I would discuss the use of oxygen with your physician.  This may help you to do a lot more comfortably.
