Perforation in nasal septum.

Ever since I had an operation as a teenager to reduce inflamation in my nose - which wasn't effective - I'd had a habit of nose-picking which has now finally led to a perforation right through my nasal septum. The hole itself seems fairly small, but the damage around it on one side covers an area about 7mm in diameter, directly under the bridge of my nose. I only realised this about a week ago and am now pretty scared, but obviously reluctant to go and see a doctor. My question is, how much healing can be expected and could this lead to a 'saddle-nose' style collapse?
